Good skin preparation is the essential aspect to guarantee the durability of your makeup. In the summer, it is even more difficult to ensure that your makeup does not melt due to sweat and oil from your skin. An alternative to this is fixing mist. The mist is a moisturizer in the form of a very aqueous spray that, among other active ingredients, has fixing and moisturizing agents.

Depending on the composition of the product, it can either leave the skin looking ‘drier’ or make it shiny. “But the common function that they all have is the power to hydrate the skin in a subtle way, without altering the makeup”, adds the instructor of the makeup course at Instituto Embelleze, Valéria Motta.

How to use the it?

In addition to being used to prepare the skin to make products stay in place, the mist can also be used during and after makeup for a more natural finish and to prevent the skin from losing its natural glow. “The mist should be applied to the face, at a distance of 15 centimeters from the face. The number of sprays depends on the need. If the skin is healthy, just a couple of sprays is enough, but if the skin is very dry, I recommend a few five sprays to thoroughly wet the face”, explains the makeup artist.

What skin type is it recommended for?

The mist can be used on all  skin types  and any makeup. “The mist is necessary for all skin types, as it restores hydration. Some brands have mists with specific agents for oily and sensitive skin”, explains the makeup artist. But, if you use matte makeup, the benefits of mist are even greater: “in makeup, mist has an even more important function, as it prevents the cracked effect”, adds Valéria.

Difference between mist and fix plus

Because they have different names, many people may think that mist and fix plus are different products. However, according to the makeup artist, both have the same proposal: prepare the skin to receive makeup, fix, hydrate and refresh.
